Jim was educated in the Midwest, the University of Dayton to be exact, majoring in photography. After having enough of the midwest, he came back to NYC and took classes at the School of Visual Arts. He shot his first wedding in 1985. In a couple of years, armed with a ‘Blad and a Metz flash, he was shooting weddings for a number of NJ studios.
In 1997, he opened Studio 4 photographics with a partner. They specialized in portraits, events, weddings and product photography.
In 2007, they closed the studio and went separate ways. He explored options in NYC. He continued with weddings and social events and added sports photography.
Presently, he shoot weddings, events, portraits, running events, triathlons and endurance races.
When Jim not creating images with his camera, he can be found competing in running and cycling in New Jersey and Central Park. He has competed in over 200 races and ran in Marathons in NYC, Chicago and Boston.
In his free time, Jim also practice martial arts, holding a Black Belt in Shorinjiryu Kenryukan Karate.
